Chewy Almond Butter DETOX Cookies

Updated: Jul 24

If you are looking to make cookies using no refined sugar, flour or eggs, this is a terrific recipe. It is high in fiber and rich in gut loving ingredients that will support a healthy liver as well. They are chewy and moist.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix in a medium size bowl:

  • 1 cup Deglet dates, pitted (soaked in warm water 10 min if firm)

  • 1/2 cup almond butter (unsweetened)

  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed

  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder

  • 1 tbsp muun chi Fermented Roots (optional)

  • 1 tbsp muun chi Fermented Peels (optional)

  • Dash of Ceylon cinnamon

Blend the soaked dates til smooth in a food processor. Fold in the rest of the ingredients. When dough is fully blended, separate the dough into two halves and place the dough into the freezer. Freeze for 1 hour or more and take out the mounds of freezer as needed. Scoop mini mounds of dough onto parchment paper. Flatten slightly and decorate with nuts.

Bake for 10–12 minutes. Cool on the pan before eating. These cookies travel well and make a wonderful nutritious snack for you and the kids. My grandchildren love them on the run or on a picnic.

If you are able to add the root and peels, they will support the detox pathways - the liver and kidneys .
