Labor Day Watermelon Mocktail featuring muun chi Kvass

Updated: Sep 8, 2020

There’s no better way to celebrate the end of our covid summer than with family and something cool and refreshing. And what if that something also boosts your immunity?! How about a yummy watermelon margarita featuring kvass instead of tequila? And zero refined sugars.

2 cups cut up watermelon chunks, 1/2 c muun chi kvass

juice of 1/2 lime

2 sprigs of mint

1/2 tsp salt

Blend all the ingredients in a blender til slushy, pour into a shallow, flat nonmetal pan. Place in freezer for 2-4 hours, break Into pieces and put in blender. (You may also choose to put the chunks of watermelon directly into the freezer and add the Kvass when you put the chunks of watermelon into the blender.) Blend until slushy, 30 sec is probably plenty. Dip glass rims in salt if desired, and pour into glasses with a slice of melon or a sprig of mint on the rim.

Enjoy!!! Your gut and family will be smiling ::)
