Mango Lassi and my next door vendor

Updated: May 10, 2021

I love the farmers markets. You can’t beat the fresh air and Vitamin D from the bright sun. I hear the vendors selling their goods - “bagels and lox, bagels and lox, come get your fresh bagels and lox” My fellow vendor sings his bagel song every Saturday morning, and I’m taken to another time and country. The vendor next to me, Neenma, sings, “I have herbs that heal, honey and ghee.” When a shopper ends up making a large purchase, I noticed that Neenma likes to give his new friend, a bright yellow liquid in a bottle. This is for you ‘ “A fresh mango lassi”. There’s always a big smile and a genuine ‘thank you’!

The other day, Neenma gave me one of these magical gifts, so I went home and tried to make a probiotic one.

Here’s what I came up with-

1 cup fresh organic mango

1 cup muun chi CoCoFir

1/2 c almond milk

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Puree the mango in the blender, add the CoCoFir, almond milk and cinnamon. Serve immediately with a dash of cinnamon on top. I hope you love it, as much as I do.

Oh how I love my family of farmers and vendors! And my community of muun chi apprecianados!
